As I'm sure everyone's heard by now, Lucasfilm has been bought by Disney, and THREE new Star Wars sequels (episodes VII, VIII and IX) will be released over the next decade. Disney live-action films can be a bit hit-or-miss, but as a self-confessed Disney fangirl, I'm certainly not appalled by their acquisition of the Stars Wars francise. They produced the first Pirates of the Caribbean; they can do fun adventure.
In fact, there is one detail that is already awesome: the new president of Lucasfilm is Kathleen Kennedy. A highly experienced and talented women taking control of a "fanboy"-oriented classic movie series? Sign me up for this exciting future.
Now, if only the sequel can create a character as great as Princess Leia (a female jedi??).
